Online resources
BCUL provides network users with a range of subscriptions to online resources, accessible from the various BCUL sites, or remotely for members of the university community.
These digital resources include databases specific to the needs of UNIL faculties, as well as interdisciplinary collections.
Online resources are an essential service for academic research and learning, offering quick and easy access to over 194 databases, 920,494 ebooks and 151,607 journals.
They are listed in the Renouvaud catalog, where they can be searched by title or via the dedicated database tab, where they are classified by discipline or document type. The academic collections pages of this website also list resources relevant to their discipline.
These resources can also be consulted by the public outside the UNIL community, by going directly to one of the BCUL sites.
The BCUL supports the University of Lausanne’s Open Science strategy on several levels: it administers the Read & Publish agreements that UNIL has signed with major publishing houses, it manages the Gold Open Access and Diamond Funds and, in collaboration with the University Library of Medicine (BiUM), it advises researchers on Open Access through the helpline open.access@unil.ch. BCUL also supports several international initiatives which promote Open Science.
