The library network Renouvaud in canton de Vaud is composed of more than 150 member libraries of different types and sizes: academic, heritage, medical, legal, museum, archive, educational, school and public.
Launched in 2016, this regional network was created by the Bibliothèque cantonale et universitaire – Lausanne (BCUL) on behalf of the Etat de Vaud, to maintain a high standard of services to the member libraries and their users.
All libraries in the network use the same cloud computing solution provided by Ex Libris. It includes an integrated library management system called Alma and a discovery tool based on the Primo VE software.
At the end of 2023, the network employed 663 professionals offering library services to 204,000 users. The Renouvaud catalogue provides access to over 4.5 million physical resources, almost 1.56 million electronic resources, including databases, journals, eBooks, academic publications and archive collections, as well as over 455 million referenced articles.
Renouvaud is an ever-expanding network, with new institutions joining every year. More than 50 libraries have joined the network since it was launched, adding to the range of resources found in the shared catalogue and to the services provided to its users.
